This project aims to provide an end-to-end experience in developing a web app that shares book summary with other people, its idea comes from an open source project idea (https://open-source-ideas.github.io/issue.html?issue=266) and simplified to meet the time constraint.

Details in this google doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14ud8gaLRS3Y6R1hksGdwabkhwUIihAzZxesUGyOpmyU/edit#

How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?

This team is on the advanced track of CodeDay Labs.

Makuza Mugabo Verite is a rising junior in high school and has experience with both front-end and back-end development prior to the program. This project gave him an opportunity to work with MongoDB and further familiarize himself with other usages of Go.

Aurora is a rising junior in college and a math major. She has little experience with front-end development prior to the program and was given the chance to further gain familiarity with it throughout CodeDay Labs. React.js was used for the front-end, which is a JavaScript library that she has not worked with before but has gained exposure along the way.

What challenges did you encounter?

Some challenges include...
1. Dynamic searching and sorting on front-end and back-end
2. CORS issues during API integrations
3. The development of a reusable custom React hook
4. The learning of new technology while having to work with it
