https://github.com/zulip/zulip/issues/25969
Zulip is an open-source team collaboration tool (like Slack) with unique topic-based threading that combines the best of email and chat to make remote work productive and delightful. Fortune 500 companies, leading open source projects, and thousands of other organizations use Zulip every day.
We will be working on a pull request to display bot avatars differently from normal users. If we finish the pull request early we can move on to other pull requests on this repo.
What tools did you use to create your project?
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
Before this, none of us had made any open source contribution before. We have never worked through such a large code base but were however familiar with Python and had basic understanding of Javascript. We also had basic knowledge of using Git and GitHub for version control.
All our code contributions were written by us.
What challenges did you encounter?
We had a challenge setting up the zulip environment locally.
We had challenges navigating the codebase for the relevant place to write the codes or make changes.
The issue we were to work on wasn't clear, so we had to message at the zulip community chat.
