Overview
The Emotion-Based Music Recommendation System is an innovative web application designed to enhance the user experience by detecting facial emotions and curating personalized playlists based on the user's mood. By leveraging advanced facial recognition technology, this project interprets emotional expressions and translates them into tailored music recommendations, creating a seamless connection between users’ feelings and the auditory experience.

Objective
The primary goal of this project is to provide users with a more meaningful and engaging way to discover music. By understanding emotional states, the system aims to enhance mood regulation and overall well-being through music that resonates with users' current feelings.

Contextual Interpretation: Just as "lorem ipsum" serves as a placeholder text that helps designers and developers focus on layout and visual hierarchy without the distraction of meaningful content, your project focuses on interpreting visual cues (emotions) to provide meaningful audio content (playlists and songs). Both processes highlight how context shapes understanding.

Enhancing Experience: "Lorem ipsum" illustrates how content needs to resonate with users. our project goes further by actively interpreting users' emotional states and curating experiences that align with their moods. This elevates the user's experience, moving from generic to personalized.

Bridging Gaps: The interpretation of "lorem ipsum" often revolves around the gap between placeholder content and actual content. Your project addresses a similar gap between users' emotional expressions and suitable musical responses, bridging the emotional disconnect in user engagement with music.

Human-Centered Design: Both concepts reflect a focus on user experience. "Lorem ipsum" allows designers to prioritize aesthetics, while our project emphasizes understanding and responding to user emotions, ultimately enhancing the way users interact with music based on their current feelings.

How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?

One team member brought valuable expertise in AI models and JavaScript, allowing for seamless integration of advanced features. Another member was fluent in Python, contributing to backend development and data processing. The rest of the team had limited coding experience but were eager to learn and support the project’s development.

What challenges did you encounter?


We encountered challenges with camera functionality, including compatibility issues and permissions, which required troubleshooting and adjustments. Additionally, integrating the Spotify API on a tight timeline posed difficulties, as we navigated authentication and data fetching processes. Despite these setbacks, we collaborated effectively to resolve the issues.
