Drama Diary is a creative web application that transforms personal moments into eloquent, Bridgerton-style narratives. Designed with a vintage newspaper aesthetic, it allows users to dramatize everyday situations using refined language, thematic headlines, and period-style storytelling. With features like timestamped entries and tone customization, Drama Diary offers a unique and expressive journaling experience that blends modern emotions with classical flair.
How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?
Our team consists of developers with a range of experience, from beginner to intermediate, who share a strong interest in creative web development. While we are still learning, this project reflects our ability to combine design, interactivity, and storytelling in a cohesive application. We've worked independently to implement custom features and refine user experience.
What challenges did you encounter?
One of the main challenges was designing a simple yet expressive interface that captured the Bridgerton aesthetic without relying on heavy libraries or frameworks. We also faced difficulty balancing poetic language generation with tone consistency, ensuring that the dramatized output felt elegant rather than exaggerated. Technical obstacles included handling user input validation, formatting outputs dynamically, and integrating background music while keeping the project lightweight and browser-compatible. Since we are still learning, debugging JavaScript interactions and structuring the project files correctly also required extra time and research.
