WHERE THE VILLAIN IS THE HERO.

The advent of modern gaming have caused retro games a struggle to find their place. Such is the case for the retro game of focus for our project, Super Smash Bros.

The beloved protagonist of the game has gone rogue, he wants to cause the most amount of destruction possible so they gain the attention of modern media. The now corrupted game files will be able to buy his evil plan time and delete all modern game files on the device.

Almost NO ONE is able to stand up against the protagonist, almost NO ONE has the capacity to be able to hold off on their own. Almost NO ONE is not giving into the terror of defeat.

But to defeat an amazing hero, one has to be an even better villain...

What tools did you use to create your project?

  • godot

How much experience does your group have? Does the project use anything (art, music, starter kits) you didn't create?

We had little to no experience on programming in GoDot and gdscript but we learned along the way with minimal use of AI and NO USE OF AI for the birth of the idea. Most of the music and the art is inspired from the original Mario with custom edits made to some.

What challenges did you encounter?

With little to no experience in godot, it was a difficult journey navigating through the game engine. We faced multiple issues, including in collaborating through github as godot doesnt support proprietary collaboration features. We also faced issues in the final stages of the game, including the shooting animation and Hitboxes.
